Purchased this for my sister who broke her ankle. It would have cost me $275 a month to rent her one, and to purchase it for under $200 was amazing.
It’s been extremely helpful with maneuvering around and given her some independence.

The scooter is overall pretty sturdy and weighty for the price. Biggest issue are the wheels. They are small so do not ride well over rough terrain or bumps, and the impact does not get absorbed by the frame or tires. Results is a lot of jolting to one’s injured leg. Plus they jam on any crack in pavement over 1 cm- if you are going fast then there is definte a tipover risk. Biggest issue is that the tires pick up a lot if dirt and, even when clean, mark up wood and laminate floors LIKE CRAZy with just regular use. Ended up constantly cleaning the floors from all the marks. Not sure I will keep this, as i may return it in favour of a scooter with bigger tires that don’t mark floors or jamb in cracks, and s model that folds up a little easier and is lighter. Overall a ‘meh’ rating even considering low price.

This has really saved me from so much! While it was a little too heavy for me to lift and use out side of my home, it was still my go to everyday. You will need a knee cushion and I suggest a more expensive one if you will be using this for an extended time. Does some perfect 3point turns when in tight spots like a kitchen and has brakes to help when needed. A good purchase.

The media could not be loaded.

Easy to assemble. Brakes work surprisingly well! Able to transport things with addition of a small bag and can balance water bottles from the handles!
It facilitated a feeling of safety and independence during fracture recovery 😀

I broke my foot and was placed in a cast for at least 5 weeks. With two kids and trying to keep up, crutches just were not a good option. The ortho gave me a prescription for a knee scooter but I could not get any indication on cost and I had heard stories from others on troubles getting one along with crazy prices. With Prime, I figured why not try it and purchased this primarily on price and positive reviews.

    Pros:
Easy to put together (took 10 minutes tops)
    Rolls well
    Stable (for me)

    Cons:
    Heavier than expected
A small amount play in steering (very minor)

Came well packaged and snapped together pretty quick. If you have ever used a folding bike or assembled kids scooters – similar hinges/clamps/pins. Pretty sturdy – I am not too heavy (150+) and it supports me totally fine. The parking brake feature works fine but you can roll through it if you push hard enough. I think if you are over 200, you may want to consider increasing the brake tension. I would not trust it in a very steep incline. However, if you need a scooter like this – I question why you would be on a steep incline? In my opinion, it is just fine.

Stability is good for getting around the house. It rolls very well/easily in hardwood and fine on carpet. There is some very slight slop in the steering shaft to the frame but it is not perceptible during use (expected at this price). It does not turn the tightest – but that helps with the stability. Bumps/doorway sills should be approached cautiously with this style of wheel (expected though).

The only major con I have with it is the weight. It weighs as much as a kids bike/aluminum frame folding bike. What that means is that you may need some help getting this in and out of a vehicle if you cannot bear any weight on your foot. Even though it folds, it is still large and weighs over 20 lbs.

I broke my ankle on a Monday, and long story short: I went to emergency and was put in a cast/splint and sent home with crutches. Because of balance problems and RA in my shoulders, I could not adjust to the crutches. After trying for them for 2 days I fell off the crutches and dislocated my pinky finger and broke it. The crutches had to go. So I searched on Amazon and found the Knee Rover. After reading the wonderful reviews on it I decided to order the Knee Rover.

I ordered the Knee Rover on August 31, and it was at my door on September 1st. Great shipping service. The box came nicely sealed and no damage on the box. Inside the box the rover was well protected with plastic ties and secured in foam pieces that prevented any damage if the box did move around during shipping.
I took the rover out of the box and within 15 minutes I had it assembled. All you have to do is put on the steering piece, lock it, and then put on the seat and lock that. (This is actually one big reason why I ordered it because I am a senior and have arthritis I didn’t want anything that I had to put together myself.)

The colour blue is awesome in person. The rover is very nice looking and looks like it’s way more than I paid. It has handlebars that are easy to grip and a seat that so is unbelievably soft and comfortable. I used it at night when I got up to go to the bathroom and have carpet all through my Studio apartment. The rover just glided over the carpet with ease and bathroom trips are easy now.

    Now for the test outside:

After a week shut in the house I was getting Cabin Fever and decided to take the rover out for a spin. I was nervous at first especially with a broken ankle and a broken finger. But, I got over my anxiety and went for it:

I walked uphill to the lake. It’s about a mile from where I live. I put my knee on the rover and walked with my other foot. The rover was easy to maneuver and I had no problems with it on the paved sidewalk. It was a breeze and I was enjoying it. Because I’m 72 and full of arthritis I didn’t want to overdo it, so I took rests on the way. The seat was very comfortable to rest on and I’d sit for a while in the fresh air and then get going again.

Once I made it to the lake I tested it on the gravel pathway. And, no, there is no way it will work on a gravel road. So, I pulled off the gravel path and went up on the grass area to complete my walk. It worked on low-cut grass much better. I sat for a while on the comfortable seat watching the animals in the water. After about an hour, I headed back home. I coasted most of the way at a slow pace because it was mostly downhill. I also used the brakes at times and they worked great. I knew not to put them on suddenly or I would topple over. I gently, and slowly applied pressure to the brakes and they worked great.

I prefer to bring a backpack on my back rather than a basket on the rover. As I carry a lot in my bag. Especially, from the store. I had the backpack attached to the front of the rover at first but the rover was stating to tip over front-ways. So, I took it off. It won’t tip while you have your knee on it, but I was walking alongside the rover so I could give my arthritic knee a rest. I did find it uncomfortable on my already bad knee if I didn’t take sit breaks. Nothing to do with the rover. I just need another knee injection.

It was so good to get out of the house today and I’m happy to say that it was because of this amazing rover I could do that. I am extremely happy with my purchase and the shipping. I already recommended this rover to my friends.

So, there you are: My happy story with the Knee Rover. I gave 4 stars on the sturdiness because it did tip with too much weight on front and not enough weight on the back. (When I took my bad knee off and walked beside it holding the middle bar.) So, that was my fault. But, it did tip so I wanted to add that.

    Few tips:

Don’t add too much weight to the front. Keep your leg well outside of the wheels so you don’t catch your leg in the wheel and possible fall. Don’t go fast on it. Even though it can coast pretty fast down hills, keep it slow. Don’t apply brake pressure too sudden. Slowly pull the levers back to let the rover slow down. Because this one can go pretty darn fast if you are not braking.

All in all I am very happy with my purchase. I’m looking forward to my next walk to the lake in a few days. I will put the lessons I learned on my first trip to good use.

Thank- you Knee Rover for this wonderful product. And, Thank -you Amazon for getting it to me so fast, and without a scratch.

So much easier to use than crutches. I attached a small plastic box to the handlebars so I could free up my hands. The scooter is so much faster and so much more stable than crutches. Would recommend!

I Love the product, easy to assemble, so much better than crutches, I had ankle fusion surgery, I am 6’4 265lbs ..60 years old. Easy to move around in the house, bathroom.. bedroom hardwood to carpet… Could be 1″ taller with thicker handle bars though, also the knee pad could be 1″ longer and 3/4 to 1″ thicker foam for comfort. maybe a little convex in centre of pad to help cradle knee. but for the price so much better than a 2 wheel hopper or crutches $100 cheaper than others.
